Walker Media scoops HarperCollins book business

harper-collinsNews Corporation-owned book publisher HarperCollins has hired Walker Media to handle its £2m media business, ending a five-year relationship with OMD without a pitch.

The Phil Georgiadis-led agency will handle media planning and buying for all of HarperCollins' book promotions.

Literary marketing campaigns are increasingly including a bigger mix of media, with traditional channels accompanied by digital activity.

Last year, the company published more than 1,200 books from a diverse pool of authors, including Stephen Fry, plus Jade Goody's official diaries.

The publisher is also set to promote a two-book deal with Prince Charles. Last month, Walker Media landed the Evening Standard's £4.5m media account.
